- ✓ Conductor type after the dash (U, R, K, F, H, D, E)
- ✓ Core configuration (J/O prefix, count, cross-section)
- ✓ Explains each segment in plain language

- ✗ National designation systems (German NYM/NYY, British BS, French U-1000, etc.)
